The film “Coupe No. 6” (“Hytti No. 6”), created with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, which won the Grand Prix at the 74th Cannes Film Festival, became an Oscar nominee from Finland, the Finnish Film Chamber reported on Monday.
“Coupe No. 6,” directed by Juho Kuosmanen, has been selected as Finland’s Oscar nominee.
The film tells about the journey in the late 1990s of two young people from Moscow to Murmansk. The main roles in the film were played by Seydi Haarla, Yura Borisov, Dinara Drukarova and Yulia Aug. The producers from the Russian side were Natalia Drozd and Sergey Selyanov. Finland, Estonia and Germany also took part in the creation.
The Oscar will be awarded on March 27, 2022.
