NATO North Atlantic Council to visit Finland and Sweden

NATO’s North Atlantic Council, chaired by Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, will visit Finland and Sweden, the Finnish President’s Office said on Wednesday.
“The North Atlantic Council, composed of ambassadors of NATO member states, chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, will visit Finland on October 25-26,” the statement said.
President of the Republic of Finland Niinistö will meet with Stoltenberg and Council representatives on Monday 25 October at the Presidential Palace.
Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto will meet with representatives of the North Atlantic Council for lunch, and the Foreign Minister and Stoltenberg will hold a bilateral meeting, the report says.
During the day, NATO Secretary General and Ambassadors will visit Parliament, where they will meet with Speaker of Parliament Anu Vehvilainen and representatives of parliamentary committees on foreign affairs and defense.
“At the end of the evening, Prime Minister Sanna Marin will meet with Secretary General Stoltenberg at a bilateral meeting and host a dinner for NATO ambassadors,” the office said.
On Tuesday, October 26, the program includes a meeting with Interior Minister Maria Ohisalo, as well as a visit to the European Center of Excellence on Combating Hybrid Threats.
“From Finland, the North Atlantic Council and the Secretary General will continue their journey to Sweden, which they will visit on October 26-27,” the office of the Finnish head clarifies.
