Finland has no plans to evacuate embassy in Kiev – foreign minister

Finland is holding intensive discussions with its EU colleagues on security in Kiev, but at the moment there are no changes in the work of the Finnish diplomatic mission, Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto told reporters.
Earlier, the U.S. State Department allowed the voluntary departure from Ukraine of part of the U.S. embassy staff in Kiev and family members of diplomats.
“Of course, we are having very intense discussions, including within the EU, about the security situation in Kiev and we are constantly analyzing whether there is any threat to the embassy. There is no change at the moment,” Haavisto told reporters in Brussels, where he is at a meeting of EU foreign ministers.
Earlier on Monday, Josep Borrell, head of the EU diplomacy, said that EU countries were not going to evacuate diplomatic staff from Ukraine and urged not to dramatize the situation.
