The subsidiary of Rosatom in Finland called the termination of the contract for nuclear power plants unreasonable

Russia’s Rosatom subsidiary for the construction of the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant in Finland, Raos Project oy, issued a release Friday evening saying that it considers the termination of the contract as unjustified and demands compensation.
As reported May 2, the Finnish design company Fennovoima terminated a contract with Rosatom to build the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant in Finland.
“The Finnish partners’ decision to terminate the Hanhikivi-1 NPP project is non-market and politically motivated…. we have no choice but to defend ourselves and demand compensation for illegally terminating the project,” Raos Project said in a statement .
Earlier, the Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment considered the owners’ actions regarding the contract with Rosatom justified and consistent.
